I have always wanted to put steel wheels on my Super C because of the mesquite thorns when mowing. I measured my axel at a 2 5/16 diameter. I read in an article in "Red Power" that the F-series wheels went on a 2 3/8 axel. Do you think there is a chance that they would fit? Would the front spindles and wheel bearings be similar? Am watchig a set on E-bay that are fairly close and would like to figure out if I would just be wasting my time and money if I bought them. Craig

1/16 inch difference would be a sloppy rear wheel. I would not recommend it. Unless you could get a round 1/32" thick axle shim to make up the difference. If you want protection why not use a full size metal or aluminum plate attached to the outside of the wheel.

Take the amish as an example. Around here some can have tractors if they are on steel. They would take off the demountable rims and build demountable steel wheels to bolt right on. If you have some fab skills you can do it, or check your local weld shop.
