Hey fellows this wreck of a tractor our ffa is doing just had a tank on the side of the frame rail for the oil. It has the live hyd. pump behind the distributer but nothing in the belly behind the clutch. what are we missing?

A late Super M has the oil resivior under the fuel tank, if yours has a different tank, it may have been added by someone else. Tractors with loaders on them usually had an extra tank, or the resivior under the tank (if yours has one) may have leaked, so someone added a different tank. If it has no resivior under the tank, maybe your Super M came from the factory without live hydraulics.

Are you sure it's a Super M? Serial prefix for the Super M is SM, for the M FBK. If it is an M, it could have been converted with a SM pump or one made by M&W. If no belly pump for the reservoir, the add on reservoir can be anywhere.
