Farmall H Hood

When I bought my Farmall H, it had an extra hole on the hood opposite the air cleaner hole. I thought this for the starter tank if the tractor was originally kerosene/distallate. Does anyone know if this was rare or if this hood would be a collector's item?

Ryan, I don't KNOW if this hood would be more valuable, but I can't imagine why it would be so. It seems to me that it'd be pretty simple to cut such a hole into any hood if a person wanted it. You can find the "starting" tanks on ebay from time to time. Good luck

Since most H's were distillate tractors, most of these hoods have that hole for the starting tank. The rare hood is the one without that hole.

The extra hole was for the starting gas tank and its not rare they made the dual fuel systems thru the middle 50s.
