wrist pin noise

I have heard of gas engines running forever with wrist pin noise, what about diesels? how long can one expect a diesel to last with wrist pins rattling in one? THANKS GUYS!! D.G.

That one is a crap shoot at best. It all depends on the compression and the extent of the damage. If its just a loose pin, it might last a while. But, if the boss in the piston is cracked, its a hand grenade. Then its how long the fuse is before it destroys the block, crank, and everything else.
If its a piece of equipment you depend on, you might want to do a thorough inspection before its too late.
