need help identifying

hey guys can you help me identify this tractor. it has a bad head gasket and i need some help on getting parts. from the paint under the crappy green it was an Illinois state tractor. on the right side of the transmission case are the numbers 3998-48R2 the tag on the left side of the transmission is unreadable.
the pics are on the parts and pieces page under "ih model unknown"

Hi it is the industrial model of 454,464 or 574 and the lever on left of steering wheel is either T/A or fast reverse option.
Size of engine will tell the model:
454, 2300A&B C-157 gas.
454,464,2400A&B,3400A&B C-175 gas. 454,464,2400A&B,3400A&B D-179(3cyl) Diesel.
574,2500A C-200 gas or D-239 Diesel.

the engine is a four cylinder gas but i could not find any numbers on it. can you tell me where to look for them.
