Anyone know where I might find a distributor gear for IH 340, IH #353902R1? Have looked everywhere online. Thanks, Doug

Call Hoober dot com"s toll free number in Intercourse, PA. They have a used parts locator and have found me discontinued parts used. Otherwise you may have to buy a used distributor to get the gear.

Doug: Go for a matched set of driver and driven gears. They don't last long if you just replace one of them.

The two gears are probably $175. at CaseIH by now. You should be able to get a used set for under $50. It's the same gears on every IH with C-113, C-123, C-135, C-152, etc. Basically every 4 cylinder gas IH built.

Ended up almost buying an old rusty distributor on ebay last night but I tought better of it since I had to ruin the old distributor gear even more than it was getting it off. Was afraid I'd never get the gear off the shaft on the ebay part without wrecking that so didn't bid.
Found a NEW drive gear on ebay for $19 shipped. Then after what you said Hugh about replacing them in pairs, I called the IH dealer and they had the other one in stock for $63 shipped. A tad steep but not as bad as I thought it would be. Now I have 2 NEW gears coming. Thanks again! Doug
