SM Serial # questions

I just bought a 1953 IH Super M- Serial # 30990 A J. Is was built in March, because of the casting codes but what does the A mean? How do I found out where is was sold? It has the extra hole in the hood for a starting tank and the hardware for shutters is that rare on a 53 Super M?

A indicates tractor was equiped to use distillate fuel and thats the reason for starting tank and shutters. Origial manifold would have a lever for adjusting heat and a shield also.
Not to common in a SM, but in my opinion not rare.
About the only chance of finding the dealer tractor was sold at is to be able to find all previous owners back to original source.
