IH 484 3pt goes down slow

Today on my 484 I needed the 3pt and when I lower it it takes like 10min for it to lower down. If I push on it then it will go faster. I checked the draft control and the hydraulic speed lever and it made no diference.
 
Hi Michael, I saved several of Bernard le Mwchano's solutions for these tractors as my brother has four of them. Below is his reply for 3pt hitch problems:

3 pt will not go down:

Hi Butch, there is a cover on the right side,in front of the rock-shaft. Remove and check if the spool valve moves with the position lever. Make sure the draft lever is down. It has a long spring, with a rod, may be the spring is unhook.


Hi, may be the unload valve is stuck. Check with engine running, raise the hitch and pull at same time the remote lever. If the 3pt hitch lifts, you have dirt in the unload valve. This valve is under the seat. Remove the large plug to access this valve. One trick, loosen the large plug for the unload valve 2 turns and start the engine, the hitch should lift if the valve is stuck. It has a small hole in the valve and just blow the dirt with air, replace with new O rings.

Well I fixed it, all I did was not push the lever all the way down into the slow drop position.

Im painting it so I have the panels off where the levers go through. The new decals I got dont say slow drop on it like the old ones did. That may confuse somone some day.

Thanks for the help guys, and the hydraulic oil is right on the full line, almost looks milky to me, Ill keep an eye on it.
