'49 Cub light switch

Four position light switch. Is this correct for a Cub???

Tractors with a cut-out for the generator had the 4 position switch, tractors with a voltage regulator have a 3 position switch.

"..cut out for the generator..." I do not know what that is. I think I have a voltage regulator atop the generator.
Soon I will buy a six volt battery and begin to explore what is working electrically on my little Cub. I have had similar experiences with my 8N Ford (1952) which had been wired incorrectly at one time or more. There used to be a guy in town who rebuilt starter motors and he refurbished mine. I think the 8N is a bit more difficult to work on than my Cub, but then I have not yet started on the Cub hydraulic system so I may be surprised.

It is correct for a 49. And as mentioned the generator would have a cutout rather than a regulator but they look similar so you might easily mistake a cut-out for a regulator.
Check out farmallcub.com for lots of information and a very active cub forum. They will be able to answer all your questions.
