super c water pump

I just bought a super c that is belived to be a 1951 model, There is no water pump on this tractor? were they still using the thermosyphon ssystem in 1951 ? Just wondering if this one should have the pump ?

That is a Super C serial number all right.

The water pump (if it has one) in on the bottom water inlet on the block. Should be driven by the belt that drives the generator.

I would have expected a Super C to have a water pump.

the bigger belt drives the fan and water pump. the generator belt is driven by a second sheave on the fan. generator is the only thing driven by that belt.

A water pump can be added on a super C. I just had a customer in Minnesota add on on his. Not sure about all the details involved but it can be done.

Are you sure it doesn't have a pump? The pump is not behind the fan like most others, but is a seperate pulley on the carb side driven by the wide belt.

jonathan: The water pump is not driven by the generator belt. The main fan belt goes around 3 pulleys; crank, fan and water pump.

Block part number should be 354898 R1. C block would be 251069 R1 in case someone has changed the engine. You might just have a case of, water pump went bad, no money for rebuilt pump, so he eleminated the pump with parts from a A, B, C or SA.
