Farmall A measurment needed

Hello everyone,

I have a Farmall A that I bought about 100 miles away and I want to bring her home. My question is: will it fit on a U-haul car transport? I don't know if it will fit width wise in the rails for the tires. If you ever moved one with a u-haul let me know.

Also if you have a Farmall A and can provide me with the width of the tires from center to center it will help me out - THANKS

Tread is adjustable, 40-68 inches rear, 44-64 inches front. Go to a place that rents solid floor tandem axle trailers, it will fit. Should be one in your area. Not sure U-haul ones are even legal for tractors.

What CNKS said. Be sure you use chains and binders . Be careful not to put too much strain on the front end by putting chain around the block. Chain the fron and rear tires only. The block is hooked to the front end and many have broken the block where it fastens to the front end on one or both sides. As stated, chain thru the wheels only Henry

Yes i have moved one 800mi on a u-haul. Just chain the front axle forward and the drawbar towards the rear put the tranny in low and away you go.

I just did this a month ago. Make sure you do not tell U-Haul you will be hauling a tractor. They do not allow it because tractors are top heavy and have a greater risk of rolling over than cars. Also, they will be asking you for the make/model/year/license plate # of the vehicle you will be hauling so be prepared with that info. I loaded a Super A on their car trailer and it just barely fit width wise but did work. Good luck and take your time hauling.
