I just got my 1466 back together after putting a new TA in it. The TA works fine but I have a few problems. The first one which has me afraid I"m going to have to tear the whole thing down again is when you put the tractor in 3rd or 4th and let out on the clutch it kills the engine. I"m thinking I might have a gear in backwards although I was very careful not to get the out of order or turned around. It even kills it in neutral. 1st and 2nd work fine. My other problem is when I press the clutch in for more than a few seconds the power steering and brakes drop out of it. If I do it really quick it all works fine. It has new fluid in it but I havent changed the filter yet so hopefully thats it but it did all work before... Any ideas????

Before you put the mcv back on did you replace the sump check plug? Is the mcv set correctly? Is you hydraullic pump working properly? A few different things can cause the hydraullics to drop. As far as the gear you have a gear in backwards or one of the shift parts aren"t connected right. Do you have gauges to check your hydraullic pressures?
Good luck

Are you sure you have two different speeds when selecting first or second gear? I think you will find that there is a problem with the 1-2 shift fork or linkage under the shift cover. Is the roller missing from the arm that moves the shift fork? A missing roller may allow the 1-2 gear to remain partly engaged when you shift to 3 or 4.

The steering and brake problem most likely is in the MCV. The pump may be weak but it must work some because you have steering and brakes before the dump valve is activated.
