I have a 460 utility.My power steering has gone out.It will turn to the right with some ease,but not to the left.I have raise the frot up with the loader and can turn it easy but there is one binding spot when going past center to the left.Any help would be very welcome.I just bought this and my wife is going to kill me if I have to take this to the dealer.It was not a problem when I bought it.This just started happening.Thanks Leon

Hello Leon,
When I first got my 460u it steered terribly hard. First I changed the hyd oil and filter, that helped a little ( I think it was a little low on fluid then too.) But the thing that made the most difference was I took the nut off the spindles and pulled the spindles right out. There was a large amount of grease/dirt inside. I cleaned them out with diesel fuel, made sure that the grease zerks functioned, greased the spindles and put them back together. It steered almost like new when I was finished. I only wish I would have replaced the Brass bushings inside the spindles when I had them apart. I hope this helps your problem! I eventually put a new hyd pump in also but that didn't really make any difference for the steering.

Hi Butch, They're doing a lot of building at APG.
They're taking a golf course just off Route 40 & route 7 and build 700 new homes. That should making driving a nightmare to APG. Is your brother still with Oshkosh? Guess he's a dad by now. I had the fence replaced around the back. Hal

Thanks guy's.I'm not really a tractor guy.We farm and I have some old farmalls,but my hobby is old IH trucks and scouts.I like this tractor.I wished I would have found this site before I bought it.I payed good money for it hoping it was a filter or low on HY Tran.I haven't checked anything yet.It only has 2200hrs on it.Thanks again for all the help.I will keep this site hand for all my tractor questions.Thanks Leon
