I just got the starter for our 350 Utility rebuild and it was working great, but now the bendix sticks, and wont spin out. I pulled the starter and the bendix was sandblasted and cleaned up when they rebuild the starter. The bendix will spin out fine by hand, but it you spin it back as hard as you can it "sticks" then you cant spin it back out. Anyone have any ideas?

If the drive was sandblasted, make sure there is no blast media remaining in the splines that can cause problems. Also be sure that it is lubricated with oil and not grease. Grease can cause problems in cold weather if it gets too stiff.

There couldbe a washer missing from the retract end that prevents the splines from bottoming. Look at the parts diagram caseih.com. There is a new clutch drive replacement that is far better than the inertia drive. CaseIH and others have it. JimN

Old style drives use three washers on the drive end. The smaller ID one limits the end play of the armature. The other two have a larger ID that slides over the armature shaft and control how far the drive can extend. These two washers are not needed whit the new style drive.
