m date code

I got an m in yesterday with something I've never seen, On the transmission where the date code normaly is it says NEW PATTERN. It is a 1950 I believe, anyone ever seen this one?

Probably put on by IH to identify a slight change to the casting, so the people moving the castings could tell the new from the old. IMO it's nothing special.
