1964 Farmall 706 drawbar or lack thereof

I have a 1964 Farmall 706 with the fasthitch. As I understand it did not come with the standard swinging drawbar. My question is what supports would I have to buy or make in order to install the drawbar. I don't see any tapped holes underneath the tractor where it looks like something would mount. It does look like there is a place in under the middle of the tractor where the drawbar would slide into, but nothing under the rear under the PTO. I could possibly fab something up myself but am curious what it would take to just buy what I need to install it. Thank you in advance for your response.

The standard drawbar on a 706 would fasten to the axle with clamps that go around the axle.

Same as the earlier 560'sM's and so on.

And the swinging part of the drawbar did connect back under the belly like you described.

I'll have to do some more homework and research, but I think all the parts you would need to install from scratch or to replace worn out existing parts are available brand new. Anything made from steel is high priced, so you might want to check some salvage yards

When I bought my 706 it did not have a drawbar, rather the fast hitch. I went to a junk yard and bought the 3 things you need.

1) The drawbar. My drawbar is a two piece affair. Pull a pin and the heavy iron piece pulls out allowing use of the 2 point.
2) The front mounting casting
3) A heavy bar which is bolted under the rearend,

As I remember the heavy bar has some spacers on each end with allows the drawbar to go through as well as swing from side to side. Two bolts on each side screw up into the rearend case. On the heavy bar are two blocks of steel which can be unbolted and moved from side to side to swing the drawbar.

I prefer using the drawbar to the 2 point due to it being solid. Also the 2 point isn't slapping around wearing itself out pulling heavy loads.

If you tractor has a serial number below 19250 there will not be any provision for the swinging drawbar. 19250 and above have the holes to bolt on the rear support needed for the swinging drawbar.

Mine is SN 8683 S-Y. Is there anyway that I could possibly mount a solid drawbar underneath the tractor. I'd really like to be able to get away from using the drawbar on the fast hitch.

What is the SN of your tractor. An earlier post said that there is no provision for tractors under SN 19250 and mine is 8683.
