Price of cub lo boy

There are the following to consider:
Condition of tires (if great, add 300) (if poor No value) (if flat and cracked, -800)
Sheet metal condition Great no rust, add 300, poor missing -300.
Stuck engine -600.
If all this is positive, and they are cool units, $3000 or more, has been reasonable some places.
If they are lacking, it may be worth 400 bucks.
If it was abandoned because of a blown engine, or transmission issue, it may be worth scrap prices (200$) JimN

Where are you? I watched a cub with 4 flat tires and hadn't run in 4 years and wouldn't start go for $2700 (engine wasn't froze though). It was still sitting in the middle of the feild it was mowing when it quit.

Seems like any cub in my area that runs brings $2000 at least. For some reason the older offset cub bring really good money in NE Kansas but the 154s and 184s seem to go for 1/2 to 2/3s what the offset ones sell for.

Seeing as I buy and sell cubs honestly a picture will tell the story best. Has it sat inside or out? Pre 1964 cub or later? Welds? Cracks? Hydraulics? Paint? Attachments? Tires? Radiator?PTO? Weights?

Regardless of what others are saying at $2k cubs...trust me there was something more to those tractors that the bidders knew about. As much as I hate to say it...go look around EBAy and compare your location and condition with whats for sale currently. I drove 12hrs to look at what the seller said was a "good old 1956 LoBoy"...when I got there it looked like a comet had crushed it, welded engine and rod bearings hammering away when you turned it on....needless to say I left with an empty trailer and a bad attitude! this spring i was at the grundy county consignment auction near morris il, there were 2 low boys there, both about identical tractors, decent tires, typical wear for old mowing tractors, both with woods belly mowers. 1 st tractor auctioned for 825.00, i thought that was a good price, pretty cheap, the second one auctioned about 5 minutes later went for 2 grand. everybdy was saying, dang i shoulda bought the first one.

Bought my 1957 Lo-Boy in June of this year for $1900 from a John Deere dealership owned by a friend.
The cub runs fine, has decent paint, very good tin, no cracks, 3 new tires.
accessories include-
PTO,Fast Hitch,Wheel weights, front end loader and tire chains. I"m happy ..IronAddict
