hey guys, I have found a 1946 farmall M with an IH sickle bar mower attached, it has not ran in about five years or so, no paint, O.K. tires, loose motor, and decent sheetmetal, could you fellas help me out on what its worth? thanks a lot.....The scrap man has already offered the owner $250.00 for it.

If the tin is fair, tires are OK, engine loose, tell me where in Illinois it is, if you don't want it, I would give him $500.00 minimum and after I seen it maybe more. I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Tim, All you have to do is beat the scrap mans offer! I will bet she was goig to take the scrap offer till you got involved, Show up at her house with 3, $100 dollar bills and you will own it. OBTW... have 2 or 3 more in various pocket just in case she get greedy.
I bought a non-runnning SM, Stage I LP the other day, for $350! Best I can tell all it needs is LP in the tank, and a Batt and it is off to the races we go. Always start really insultingly low. If the owner gets mad, then they willget glad as you work you way up in price to a point that is agreeable to both of you., Or you can stop if you get spooked for what ever reason, Good hunting!

What kind of mower? One with a "balanced head" (1000, 1100 or 1300) or a wooden pitman arm? If it has the balanced heas box the mower could easily be worth $350 - $500 if its in operating condition. Even the old units with the wooden pitman arm are worth $100 - $150 in any kind of working order.
