I'm attempting to prep brake components on my H for sandblasting. I've removed the spring mechanism and can't get it apart to my satisfaction. I've unscrewed the top piece. This leaves the spring still inside its housing. I can't figure out how to get that spring out. Do I have to unscrew the piece at the top of that housing? There's a shaft (threaded on the inside) into which the top piece mentioned above fits ... this runs through the middle of the spring I'm tryingn to remove. Any suggestions? By the way .. this is on an H.

I have never had one of those apart, I just clean them good, wire brush, perhaps with a brush on a grinder, clean with wax and grease remover and paint. Disassembly, IMO, is not necessary or desired.
