Could someone suggest a price for the the sickle bar mower. I didn't see any brand identification but it looks to be a 6ft. bar.

I got 35 dollars each for a couple of green ones i sold not long ago. Depending on condition , and if anyone doesn't have one already, your results may vary a bit.

Midwest gal: Mowers like that are worth scrap price, plus the cost of wear parts you don't require to make it a perfect working machine.

$50 max. I'd try to get it for $5, though.

Pitman mowers are not fun in my opinion. I'll only run a balanced-head.

Sickle bar mowers have there place and can be used in hay fields. Our family cut many thousands of acres with a sickle bar mowers, the one in the pictures is newer than what we used. Sickle bar maintantence and occasional pitman arm placement kept them running. I am not sure if you are buying or selling.

i THINK ITS A 7FT MOWER,i MOWED HUNDREDS OF ACRES WITH ONE WITH NO PROBLEMS,IF YOUR COLLECTING ITS WORTHLESS,IF YOUR WORKING IT ITS WORTH WHAT EVER YOUR WILLING TO GIVE.A COUPLE HUNDRED BUCKS IS NOTHING FOR A WORKING PEICE OF EQU.

As far as I am concerned, the value of a sickle bar mower is almost entirely determined by the condition of the cutter bar. Yes, all the pieces need to be there, but a poor cutter bar can easily eat up hundreds of dollars in repairs. If the bar is junk, the mower is only worth about scrap value. If the bar is excellent, it may be worth the cost of putting a junker into like condition.

I had an old IH Mower that I used on the H for a few years was like new. I put in a new cutter bar and sold it for 250 after a while. Same price I gave for it 4 years earlier...
They are worth what you want to pay! From Scrap to what it's worth to you to do a job.
