F20 head bolt torque and rod bearing torque

There are no "factory" torque specs. I did my 38' F-20 head bolts to 90. The rod bolts I used plastigage on. Torqued them to approx. 45 - 50 ft. lb and kept the clearance at approx. .003 - .005. You have to add or subtract shims to get the proper clearance.
If you've never used plastigage it's pretty simple. Most all auto parts stores carry it. Put a piece on the crank journal and install shims and cap and torque down. Then remove and measure the width of the crushed plastigage against the chart that comes with it. It will give you the clearance between the bearing and journal.
