Got Cub back from machanic, after 4 months. Had had the crank turned, and a new valve put in, (at least thats what I remember). It ran, good, but low. I adjusted the fork and the screw behind the carb, it ran faster, but would quit, over and over. Im afraid to fool with a Cub carb. Ive worked on F 20s and 30s, but im afraid of the Cub. THERE, I admitted it. Anyway, I also noticed that the lift wouldnt. I used small pipe wrench, and it had tension, but wouldnt move on its on. Is the lift tied to the engine, and if so, what needsa to be done? The lift worked fine when it left here,

look in the how to section for lurker carl's carb rebuild advice, follow it completly USING ONLY a IH rebuild kit(just cause a IH dealer sells it don't make it an IH rebuild kit)
look on other ones for info on hydraulics

If they took the engine out, they had to drain the hydraulics. Make sure they put oil back in.

farmallb, The Cub is real easy to work on if you get a service manual it walks you through all adjustments, carb and hydo. Yes fill up hydro fluid do not run if pump is dry sometimes it will get air bound and you can bleed out the air. And the carb linkage can be adjusted toget full range of trottle. Oldiron29
