Looking for F-4 magneto tools

I am in the process of rebuilding a couple of F-4 mags, and I am interested in buying some specialized tools for the job. Best would be old dealer surplus IH tools, but I would also be happy with other sources of the tools.

I am looking for a magnet recharger, impulse coupling puller, and bearing puller blocks.

If anyone has any of these items they would like to sell, or knows where I could find them, I would be very greatful.

as far as the parts you are looking for the charger can be bought on ebay but would set you back some good money . Nebraska kirk just built one . and other will charge for you at a small price. The puller for the inpulse is better to be made at a good machine shop you will probly not find one of them the right thread either its 9/16 24 I believe. and as far as the bearing puller I made my own out of a small bearing puller and a other puller set I had in the garage it works most of the time but sometimes you have to add a tad bit of heat not much just a tad and pull it quick so the heat does not hurt the internal rotor.

Thanks for the replies. I had a tool and die guy ready to make the impulse puller for me on his lathe, and he got busy. Still waiting.

I know a couple of IH dealers that have been in business a long time. I am gonna hit them up and see if they have any of those tools in the "back room". You never know what you will find if you don't ask.

I do appreciate the feedback and comments. I don't mind paying someone to rebuild these, but it's the sort of thing I kinda like doing myself. Not because I don't trust anyone, but because I like to tinker. Not only that, I can say, "I did it".......

thanks again.

I don't know where to buy a magnet charger, there have been several that have sold on ebay in the past, I tried to buy one, but they sold for $700-$800. I ended up making my own for a little less than that. If you find a source for the bearing puller, please let me know as I would like one too.

I rebuild magnetos and just purchased this puller, works good too!
You can get the impulse puller here:

HEY KIRK, DOES that puller really work good? I built a few for the H4 and J4 out of similar and they would crack break constantly, It was not untill I went to tool steel that I started to get them to work without breaking the threads off.LOL
Is a F easier to pull than an H series?

So far it has worked just fine. I removed one that was really stubborn, I had to tighten the bolt, hit the head a few times with a hammer, tightened it again and hit with a hammer again and it came off. I don"t think the F is eaiser to pull over the H or vise versa.
