Outer Bearings

How is the best way to remove the outer bearings from a International 300U ? Do I have to remove the top plate and go in that way or can I remove them another way. Those outer bearing are about $100 a piece. They are hard to find to.

No you do not have to remove top cover.Drain part or all the oil. Remove PTO.That will access you to retaining bolt in end of axle.Remove bolt /Then 4 bolts on end of axle housing (out bearing/oil seal retainer) pull the whole axle out if you wish.Usually you don't have to.

Also get the inner same as above just lay/tilt bull gear over out of way.
