Correct year of I-4

Hi all! I am having trouble identifying the year of my I-4. The chassis s/n is IBH 22181. The engine s/n is IBHM 21932. Any help would be great. Thanks, Mike...ps., what does the IBH and IBHM represent? Leads of where to order routine parts for an I-4 would also be helpful.

1949. I stands for industrial, B and H mean it is from the same family of tractors as the Farmall H, which has a prefix of FBH. M is the designation for motor, far as I know. Many parts shared with the H and W4 are available from your CaseIH dealer, and many aftermarket dealers. Parts specific to the I4 will be harder to locate, probably available only from salvage.

The IBH implies I-4, a W-4 is WBH (except that my 1941 tractor does not have the W, only BH, or the W in front of the 4 on the model number) and a Farmall H is FBH. THe IBHM is the motor identification, a W-4 has WBHM etc.

Serial number 22181 (all mixed with W-4, I-4 and O-4 tractors as all in same number series) puts it in 1949 production year according to Guy Fay's data book
