Single Point Fast Hitch Needed

Hi folks, I am restoring a 54 Super A and looking for a single point complete fast hitch. I've found one in TX, but its too far for me to travel. Any help locating one would be appreciated. thx much Paul

Paul: You say TX is too far for you to travel. That leaves room for a lot of other places being too far as well. Perhaps it would be best if you enlightened us just where you live. I think I could put together a complete fast hitch from parts I have around. I may be too far away as well.

Hi folks, thanks for your responses.

Hugh - The tractor is located in Wakeman, OH, near Cleveland. Or if its easier, our farm is located in Franklin NY, near Oneonta.

Keith - If we could get the price of your FH and transportation worked out, I would purchase your fast-hitch. But I've yet to find transportation from NC.

Andy - Thx for the suggestion. I put an ad on this website about 5 weeks ago and thats how I located the FH in TX. The price was right, but I had trouble with finding transportion.

thx again guys. Paul

Paul: Send me an e mail. We can discuss how your going to use the spring assist. Super A touch control rockshaft for hitch does not have attaching hole for spring. Just want to make sure your aware of that.

Hi Hugh, I am having trouble with email, so I'll use the board to show you my setup. Maybe this will help determine if I can use the Fasthitch spring assist. Do the photos show you enough to determine if the FH will bolt right up?

Paul: The angle in both photos is not quite right. On the back side of the rockshaft arm that raises the rear lift is a cast tab for a pin to go through. On most non fast hitch tractors that tab has a 1/4" hole, however on the fast hitch tractors the tab is larger with a hole for a 1/2" pin required for spring assist to hook to.

I have run fast hitches without the spring, they lift marginally less, however I think the long term effect of no spring will be detrimental to the tractor hydraulic system.

The problem for you will be finding a rockshaft arm with the large hole. Then you have to dismantle the rockshaft arm assembly. These can be a real bear to get apart. A good option may be find a complete touch control unit. This of course would be more feasable should your current touch control unit need a rebuild kit.

I had been thinking if you sent me an e mail I could retuen photos of the fast hitch spring. I think I know the problem your having, your using modern and I classic. Using classic forum click on your post then scroll to my post, at the bottom click on send mail. I think this is one of the YT pitfalls if one guy is using modern and the other classic.
