Just SICKENING...

A W-9 unceremoniously dumped on top of a WD-9.

They appear to have been complete, and intact until the butcher got ahold of them.

If my theory is correct, they "lived" at the same farm, then suffered this fate after the owner passed away. There was LOTS of stuff there, and I figured they would have a "collectables" auction, but called in the butcher instead.

I wanted to check the serial numbers, but couldn't see them without risking life and limb.

Oh, yeah, and there's a Case 930 behind and unser the IH's. Not much left of that one!

I agree. Just sickening. A well advertised auction would have netted quite a bit more money. It does appear though that those tractors could still be salvaged, at least for parts.

Yep I hate seeing things like that because it about makes my blood boil. Guess thats why I have 33 tractors on my place, ya some are more parts then tractor but I know as long as I live they will not be sold off as scrap.

It is sad, but a fact of life. That tractor probably brought in about $1200 for junk and there is no way it could have been sold like that for even $1000.

I've talked to several guys that have "given" junque to this particular scapper, and they aren't even getting pennys on the dollar compared to scrap price, yet figure their stuff is worth collector prices if someone wants to beat the scrapper to it.

It's happening all over. I have heard that China and India ane taking all the scrap, but can't say for sure. We sent Japan lots of scrap iron before WWII and they turned it into bombs and battleships to kill our servicemen and women.

Those who do not know their history, are doomed to repeat its failures.

I dont know why people do this. I think if you truely sold all the parts of a tractor, you'de be left with some torn up tires, a pile of grease and rust with some mouse nests, and some rusted out fenders and mabey a hood or toolbox.

People do this because they do not want to get into salvage business and old tractor people think they should be able to buy them for 2 or 3 hundred and scrap yards will give at least twice that.

A lot of it probaly goes to China but Nucor steel has a mini mill within couple of miles of me that uses only scrap metal (no iron ore) and they recieve several thousand tons of scrap every day by barge, train and trucks.

Not to argue with you, but that tractor would have been worth about $300 or less for scrap around here, and if it was consigned to an auction, it would have sold for $600 to $800.

Gene I agree 1000
% people don't understand history does repeats its self and Japan did that before Dec. 7th 1941 and China will do it to use again if we keep sending them all this iron. People are so stupid all they see is $$$$ but they don't think about where it comes from or why or what may be done with it

Times are getting tougher every day.[at least around here] I am with you guys about having auctions,or finding people who can give this old equiptment a 2nd life or to be restored.but,I might be jumping to conclusions. maybe; there electric was turning off? maybe;the kids need food or even school clothes,or a emergency of some sort. For these reasons or something simalure where cash is needed a.s.a.p. I can understand there dission. BUT, if these [golden girls] went to the big bone yard in the sky just to go on a spending spree , I could just ring there neck/necks!!! but thats just my opinion!!
