I recently acquired a 1950 Farmall "M". It runs good but it seems to be using a little oil and will smoke a little, only when idling, now and then. I did a compression test and all the cylinders had from 100 to 110 lbs. and adding a little oil to the cylinders only brought up the compression by 10 lbs., max. The tractor had been sitting for the winter before I bought it. I have run it for quite a few hours since I"ve had it. At one point it was spitting a little oil out the muffler but has seemed to have stopped that. What could be the problem? Could it be valve seals? I had a friend recommend to me, to put some Marvel Mystery oil in the crankcase, and run it for a while. What do you think? I hope some of you Farmall guys can give me some advise! Thanks for any help!
