I have all the info such as valve lash clearance etc.I can find tdc on #1 cylinder by pulley marks but how do I find tdc on #6 cylinder? Thanks!!

You say you know how to find #1 TDC. #6 TDC happens at the same mark EXACTLY ONE turn later.

Thank you Bob!If I have the marks on pulley at tdc how do I know if I'm setting on #1 or #6 cylinder?

If the valves are both CLOSED on #1, the valves on #6 will be at "rollover"... exhaust closing/intake opening. This is #1 TDC.

Thank you Bob.It' about 100 degrees here and I'm trying to get this old gal running before sundown tomorrow. You have helped alot!!

So Arkie what did you find when you tore the old girl down? Did you do an in frame or did you pull the engine? Just curious how you made out.

Sorry for late response. Two pistons were fried.
I tore here down for total rebuild.New clutch,t/o bearing etc.I got her running with a few glitches. Its been @100 degrees here in Arkansas,so I haven't run her enough to seat the rings. It's supposed to be cooler this weekend,so maybe I can let her stretch her legs.LOL Thanks for asking!!ARKIE
