I have removed and cleaned the outside of the air cleaner on my Farmall Cub. I want to remove the filter for cleaning or replacing. It is held in place by a metal plate with holes in it. How is the plate removed?
I have cleaned and painted the oil tube which attaches to the air cleaner unit.
Got a package today from YT so have a wiring harness and a spare oil filter. I ordered a manual for servicing the electrical system from www.BinderBook.com so am hopeful I can figure out the wiring.

Just dip the whole unit in Kero that will clean it out. no need to remove the mesh filling, unlsess it is rusted or damaged in some way

The plate should be crimped or spot welded in permanently. There's generally no need to remove the cleaner mesh for any reason.
