super a sleeve length

Have a super a with block # 354898r2. Called today to order a 3 1/4 bore engine kit from this site. The guy I was talking to wasn"t sure if I could get that for my tractor. He wanted me to measure my sleeves. They measured 3 7/16 at the seal and they were 6 7/8 long. The guy on the phone said the sleeves for the kit I was trying to order were 7 1/16. Will these longer sleeves work in my engine. Thanks Mark.

Mark: If the parts folks your dealing with can't order you the correct sleeve kit using the block part number 354898 R2, then your dealing with an incompentant parts person.

I thought that block number was used on the Super C tractors. I would do some careful measuring to see if an additional 3/16" is too long. Hugh McKay has all the block numbers and he may chime in. Hal

I had block # 354898R1 and Mr Hugh said it was a super c block and would take any 3&7/16 kit.I chunked the 6 7/8 3" sleeves and installed 3 1/4 X 7 1/16 sleeves.Worked like a charm.He recomended a water pump for hard work.My block was a R1.Mr Hugh knows his blocks.
