no oil to rocker arm on farmall a

Farmall poor

New User
I have a 1941 Farmall A that is not getting any oil to the rocker arm. Oil pressure gauge goes up about half way when running.

Make sure that someone has not put a regular cap screw type bolt in the center hold down bracket on the rocker arm assembly. If so oil passage is blocked.Takes a stud bolt with 1/8 hole half way through then takes a 90 degree in stud for oil to pass into bracket assembly.Seen alot of them broke or done away with.People over look them on dissembling for head work.then replace with regular bolt.

As a follow-up to what the other guys said, I have a Super-A, and while I was rebuilding my engine, I found that particular 'bolt' stripped. Happened to get a pic of it, and where it goes. And yes, it's drilled up it's middle, and you can see where the passage comes out the side.

It's under the nut. There's a drilled-passage in the bracket- you can see the thickened part running up the middle toward the IH logo.

did the head on my 41 h , there arnt any drilled bolts, i think the oil comes up thru the tube that extends off the rocker shalf. please correct me! also i broke one(rocker shalf bolt) on head gasket retorque

theres 4 studs, none are in the center, thats where the tube is. i replaced all 4 studs after i broke one. oops though you were working on a h, i dont anything about A
