Few questions on a 1486

Hi, I have a few questions about my 1486 that i have notice over the past few weeks.

1. When im running on the low side of the TA and then when i shift it up to the high side it has like a whistle/whine sound almost like fluid trying to get by a valve or something.

2. I was running my mower behind it a couple weeks ago and i kept the rpm high to run the mower at the correct speed, and when i push in the clutch when the engine is running at a high speed it sounds like a whine sound like fluid by passing or something.

I just wanted to know what these sounds were.
Thanks, Nathan

It's probably the same thing for both, as pushing the clutch also actuates a valve that has something to do with the TA.

I'd start out by getting the service manual and adjusting the clutch and TA linkages back to spec. That may cure the problem, as a worn linkage may not be moving a valve quite enough, causing your noise.

If that doesn't help, then your only alternative is to tear into it... Without the proper knowledge, books, and diagnostic equipment, though, you won't know what to tear into.

I know that if you leave it in high the whine will slowly go away and it dont do it everytime. I have adjusted all the stuff and it seems to still do it, I will have to see if something has loosened up. Thank you for your reply.
