How many on this forum have heard of Joe Newman and his energy machine?

I have.
All energy available is subject to reality.
Perpetual motion is not reality.
Energy (that which high function physicists deal with at CERN, Fermilab, and the Stanford Linear accelerator), are actively engaged in discovery on the theories of how our reality works. The man is not operating in that environment. Neither is his work open to repeatability and duplication by others. We live in a universe of unknowns, but open dialog and repeatable science define our progress. I do not believe though I would be willing if it were under the scrutiny of others.

Works every time for the math formulas, but it (even in all its simplicity)is just math.
Each real universe conversion looses energy to the mechanism used to control it.
Matter/antimatter reactions might be an exception, but only if they are single atom events, and no one measures any speed or values involved. (tough to run a SUV on theory at the single atom level.

That's just mass-energy equivalence, has nothing to do with the laws of thermodynamics. You still can't get more than you started with. You saying this Newman fellow is building nuclear reactors?

No, but I've heard of his brother, Alfred E. His picture quite often adorned the cover of "MAD" magazine.

ythe closest thing I have seen to perpetual motion is some womens mouths. But even they quit is 80-90 years.

Most of the women that have the perpetual motion mouth you're talking about produce at least one offspring with the same perpetual mouth gene; thereby ensuring there is no gap in the continuing blabber.

He is converting mass into energy in a safe non-polluting way using the power of a permanent magnet and a coil of copper wire. He uses a very low amp high voltage imput to trigger and align the atoms in the wire which causes the atoms of the magnet to align and rotate the rotor of the motor. The machine puts more back into the batteries than it uses.

Jim: Can you explain why in a simple ignition system with a 6 volt imput, the condenser has to be able to stand up to 80 or 90 volts?

Peak voltage applied to the condenser is a voltage harmonic charging (AC) from the coil discharge. Can be as much as 250 in some apps. JimN
