I am trying to replace the front tranny seals on my super m, and am having trouble on one. I"ve removed the liftall and the small love joy coupler. I was then able to remove the coupler that was threaded on to the countershaft, the one that turns the liftall pump, and the seal retainer for that. My trouble is with the tranny input shaft. First I removed the coupler (universal joint) between the clutch shaft and the input shaft. Then I tried pulling the flange off of the input shaft by using some threaded rod and nuts. The problem is when I pull this flange all the way that I can; it comes in contact with the clutch shaft and still is not off the input shaft. I tried putting the flange back on and then removing the clutch shaft to get it out of the way, but there isn"t enough room to remove it. I tried removing the two bolts holding the throw out bearing carrier so as to remove the clutch shaft, but still not enough room. Do I need to split this tractor to finally remove the flange on the input shaft, so as to remove the seal carrier? Or am I missing something here?
Thanks in Advance,
Jim
