PTO Shaft Housing

This is a 1965 Case 66T Rotary Cutter driveshaft pictorial.

The rear shaft housing (bottom left) nylon bushing (10), washer (9) and snap ring (8) are all missing so the shaft housing is flopping when in use.

I have searched the internet with no luck and my local Case IH dealer and the regional parts mgr both say they cant find any record of a 66T ever existing until I should them the owners manual and a parts catalog.

I have to take it apart no matter what I do. I could just go to the local Motion Industries and match up a bushing best I can, one guy suggested I make hardwood wedges and drive them between shaft and housing to keep it from moving.

Has anyone taken the housing off completely? I don’t see any reason that wouldn’t work except for the safety aspect.

If I do find the parts, how does the snap ring go on? There doesn’t seem to be enough room to snap it in place except to put it in place then shove the housing over the retainer.
