I got the tractor split but I've forgotten which way the clutch faced.I was told the springs face the pressure plate but when I put it together that way the three fingers on the pressure plate started moving in.Is there something I'm doing wrong,or do I have to shim the pressure plate? The IH manual is no help on this. Also is there a measurement to take on the pressure plate reassembled prior to putting the tractor back together? It was about 100+ today and I have no desire to tear it apart twice. Thanks for any info.

If you are reffering to the disc, the spring side faces the pressure plate. No shims. Is the T O bearing in correctly? Is the clutch pedal in the engaged position?

Think I misunderstood your problem, when you assemble the the clutch to the flywheel the fingers move toward the flywheel?

springs turned out on the disc. its normal for the fingers to move in you are compressing the presure plate springs i think your fine

The damper springs of the disc face AWAY from the flywheel. The easy way of doing this job is to place the pressure plate on the shaft then place the disc on the shaft slide the tractor together then bolt the pressure plate to the flywheel this way you only have to align the pilot bearing to the shaft and you work thru the bottom to bolt up the pressure plate.

Throw out bearing has been replaced but the tractor is split and I haven't engaged clutch pedal to see.My problem is when I attach clutch with pressure plate the three fingers goes closer the more I tighten the pressure plate to the flywheel.

ike i said in the above post the fingers moving closer is normal, put the thing together

That's what they're supposed to do.

Pushing the fingers inward always moves the pressure plate more to the rear or, looking at it another way, toward the outside of the cover, whether the cover is bolted to the flywheel or not. When everything is put together and working, pushing on the clutch pedal moves the throwout bearing forward, forcing the fingers in, which moves the pressure plate away from the flywheel (and toward the outside of the cover), freeing up the friction disc and shaft.

As you tighten it down, all that's happening is that you're putting pressure on the cover instead of the fingers to move the pressure plate. As you do this, the fingers are able to move forward, just as if a throwout bearing were being applied to them.

Yes you can. I don't know how easy a 560 is but, on my MTA it was kind of a pain. I decided to do it that way after trying the other way for several hours with no luck. Thats why our local dealer has a collection of salvalge transmission input shafts cut off. They slide the cut off shaft into the clutch to align everything before tightening the pressure plate.
