I have a 1957 farmall 130 with rear spinout rims, it has longer final drive axles on both sides. I only know of one other 130 that came new with rear spinout rims and it was sold off the showroom floor at a IH dealer in 1958, does any one know how many 130's IH made with the spinout rear rims, any information email [email protected] or call 859 588 0699 Thanks Dean

Dean: I expect you've seen a large percentage of the 130s equipped with spin out rims. I've never seen one. Spin out rims were something all manufacturers offered as an option in the mid to late 50s. I've yet to see a farmer that ever bought more than one tractor, so equipped. It just didn't fly.

Hugh, I have only seen the 130 i have with spinout rims, I have been in contact with a man from Ohio that bought one new in 1958 with spinout rims,I do not think many of them where made with spinout rims, it must have been a promotional thing IH did, thanks Dean

Dean: I think the spin out rims promotion was done by an outside supplier thinking they were going to supply the world with these rims. Almost every company turned out tractors with spin out rims around 1958. My understanding is those rims were all made by one company. Tractor manufacturers manufactured the hubs to suit.

It was a short lived idea, by 1965 you couldn't find a new tractor with spin out rims anywhere. Farmers just didn't buy it, not in big numbers anyhow.
