extrude hone

Extrude honing is a really cool process. A rubberized grit-filled stuff is forced at high pressures through passages, such as those in an intake manifold, exhaust manifold or whatever. The grit takes out bumps and stuff, smoothing the castings. The result is a very smooth passage in the casting. Wherever there is a tight spot in the casting, the extrude hone gets forced through at even higher flow rates, which hones those spots even more and widens them. This lessens the restriction. Great stuff.

I wish I had an answer to the basic question, though. I don't know any dealers in my area, let alone in yours. My guess is that this is a very specialized machine-shop process. I'd recommend you contact some high-performance machine shops around the country. If they don't do the work, they'll know who does.
