looked at a 1947 C, battery connected w/negative ground. I thought C"s & S C"s were pos. ground. Other than switching the battery cables, what other things should I check to make the change to positive ground?

1) If you change battery polrity you need to BEFORE you start it up, Polarize the Generator.

2) If it has an ammeter its leads need swapped or else it will register bass ackwards.

3) If its a coil ignition instead of a magneto, the coil also needs its leads swapped i.e. for Neg ground that would be the + gets Ignition Switch voltage while its - wires to the distributor and its opposite that if at Pos ground.

I would take the regulator off so i could see on the bottom which ground the regulator was made for. By getting a 50 yr old tractor you never know what all has been taken apart or replaced.
