IH606 Road Paver

Here are some pictures of the IH606 Road Paver that I posted about here a few days ago. It is mounted on a IH606 tractor. The serial number tag says IH606HC, which I believe would make it a high crop?

The serial number is 7958XYGGPP704. What year would that make it? Has anyone ever seen one of these? Are there people out there looking for these to have or fix up?

i believe the HC denotes the manufacturer that built the paver and used the 606 as the power unit. similarly, my farmall 240 serial number is 614 602CR. the 240 was sold to Chisholm Rider and had a string bean harvester built around it. there was an article in red power magazine awile back about this topic. i can't put my hands on the issue right now.

HC does not denote the manufacturer that built the paver because there is another tag on the paver that says the manufacturer was Trac-Paver out of New York state.

ok, that throws my idea out. the 606 serial #s for 1967 start at 7922, so yours might be an early 1967. the rp mag article talked about spec #s also. the 602 on your tag could be the spec # for that paver.
its a nice find, at any rate.
