Oil leak from under M

Hey guys,

I noticed tonight when I was charging my battery up on my driveway that the tractor a 1945 Farmall M was leaking fresh clean looking oil from under the middle of the tractor. I got to looking and it seems to be coming from between the rear end housing and the transmissing housing. Any clues?

thanks

oil leaks from underneath any old tractor are very common. Time for some work to fix it if you're concerned about it. Some folks just pour in a little more oil and let it leak; maybe much cheaper than repairing the cause.

You have a few seals in the belly pump area, one for the pump, one rear engine seal, one for each transmission shaft. One of those is leaking.

My M leaks when the front is lower that the rear. I think that means it oil from the gear case.Parked slightly up hill( and I mean slightly) ,, no leak. Could be from many different places as stated before. Nuff said Henry
