I've machined out My alternator bracket...alternator is lined up with fan pully....I,ve built a new adjustin' bracket...got the right diode (I hope )...One more question before I go any futher. What about the coil? Do I need a 12 volt coil or do I keep the 6 volt. If it wouldn't be too long a reply I'd like to know the whys and wherefores of why the I keep the 6 or change to a 12...There's a few thigs I know a little about, tractor electronics ain't one. Thanks for all Yaw'ls help so far.

you can keep the 6v coil, just zip on over to napa and get a coil ballast resister for an early 1970"s b body chrysler. cost about 3- 4 dollars. put it in the wire supplying power to the coil. its a ceramic block about 3-4 inches long, drops the 12v down to run the coil.
