Hi,

We have rebuild the TA clutch from a 1206 diesel, but now it won't switch to hi speed, it stays in low speed. We have good steering and brakes.
We did we do wrong?????

Don't know , Might be ya left out and O/Ring or cut one when ya were installing them on the tubes going to the T/A from the valve body my be a blowen o/ring or gskt in the MCV valve body maybe a junk T/A . Looks like your going to be doing some back tracking as this is a new one on me .

With the TA lever back, does the tractor free wheel when slowing down? If so then you do not have hydraulic control to either clutch pack.

If you had the input shaft out of the clutch carriers, did the oil holes get lined up when the shaft was reassembled? Are the sealing rings in place on the input shaft? Did the jumper tubes get reinstalled?

Using a gasket as a pattern, I made a plate to bolt on the clutch housing with holes to be able to pressurize the jumper tubes to verify that the clutches are working. You can just apply air pressure to the high and low jumper tubes but be careful because the air pressure will blow them out. The plate just holds them in place for hands free operation.

What do you mean you rebuilt the ta clutch? You rebuilt the t/a? Direct drive and t/a clutch pack? Replaced the seal rings, o rings and gasket? What was involved in your rebuild?

Hi,
Problem solved. We forgot to put in the plastic non-return valve in the side of the tractor.
This valve is for steering the tractor when the engine is not running, the oil can flow to the steering through this valve.
