i thought it was an urban legand

Yep!

Myself, I always wanted to see one so I could take a close look at the decal and see whether they pasted an H into the MTA decal or went to the trouble of having the HTA made up.

I seen one at the RPRU several years ago in TN. It had a custom made SHTA decal on it. Was a 300 with SH sheetmetal on it. Looked good though.

There are several around. Do you want to build one as i know a guy who works at a I-H dealership and has built one.

There will be one at the Jefferson county fair in CharlesTown WV in the later part of August,it was purchased by my friend for 10,000 at a auction in PA

Yep, some are doubters, but I'm a believer.

I know because I've got a Super BV/TA Diesel with live hydraulics and live PTO hiding in the back of my shed.

;)

From Wikipedia for subject "Farmall tractor":

"A few clever mechanics have created so called Super H-TA (Super H with Torque Amplifier), Super HD (Super H Diesel) and F-16 tractors. IH never manufactured such models."

The only thing keeping people from making anything is financing, and building a SHTA is cheap. It is also fun, controversial, and a nice tractor when done. I have a 1967 Austin Healy sprite with a 3TC toyota engine, all electrical, Emissions control, and transmission. is it a Healy, or a Toyota. We call it Jane. JimN

James,
Would you please post your friends email address, I have a F30 diesel high-crop "duck bill" that I'm sure he would be interested in. It needs work, all in pieces in preparation for restoring, but most pieces are there or could be obtained locally. I have heard of SHTA but never what he could have with this for only $50000 or best offer. (;~)
