Throttle rod

I've been working over the throttle linkage and found someone had it installed wrong, so I changed it to the way it should be and the problem seems to be the throttle rod is either to long or I got something still wrong. I can get it to fit but the adjustment on the threaded end goes all the way to the top of the threads of the adjusting threads, and on the throttle lever it don't go all the way to the top 2 notches.

Can any one tell me how long the throttle rod is suppose to be?

Thanks in advance.

Boomer22, I looked back and didn't see any other post from you..we would need to know what kind of tractor you are talking about before any suggestions will be forthcoming. That information will get you some possible answers

Sorry about that Michael.

It's a H. Not sure if it's the orginal throttle rod or got replaced and it wasn't the right one, maybe thats why they had the linkage messed up and a square nut welded on top of the part where the throttle rod and govenor meet to make the rods fit, not sure but something is amiss. Thnak you for your quick reply also.

HHhhmmm..sounds like someone has modified the linkage some how..my tractors are out at the farm, I'll look in the morning...my manual shows the lever from the governor and the throttle rod coming down into it..it is a 90* bend into the lever with a cotter pin holding the rod in place the rod goes in behind the manifold to the pivot at the top of the engine..I'll try to measure these lengths for you and get back to you

I measured mine and it measures 49 1/4 from the very tip of the threaded rod part to the begining of the L bend in it (just to the start of the bend). (so not counting the part that slips into the hole of the throttle). If any one knows how long this rod for the H should be I'd be greatful.

Sorry hate to be a pain but I Still can't find out how long this rod is suppose to be. I've looked everywhere even caseih.com they show the rod but no measurement.
