TD14 sleaves into a TD40

I understand the pistons of a TD14 will fit straight into a TD40; however will the sleaves fit also? The Td40 has a Copper compression ring that the 14 doesn't have, but couldn't I just use the head gasket of a 14?

The TD14 pistons & sleeves will fit the TD40 block. The copper fire rings were used in the TD14 & TD 18 engines. TD14 or TD40 head gasket will not hold the sleeves in the block without the fire rings. The TD40 head gasket has the correct amount of compression to seal the fire rings so no water/antifreeze leaks. I have used the TD14 sleeves & pistons in my TD35 block.
