Is there a web page with details on the English Farmall M, built at Doncaster? The plate says Model "M", and the serial number is D 4142. This tractor looks similar to the American M, and I guess it's an early model before the "BM", "SBM" and "SBMD". My questions are:
- year of production?
- period of production?
- total number produced?
- the same C-264 engine as the American M?
- do the UK M have the same specifications as the US M?

With that serial number your tractor was built in 1951. Very similer tractor to the US built M but the tie rod on the wide front axle was behind the axle. MJ

Hi Ole,
The Vintage Special books had the info on Brit IH tractors.
If it is a BM it would have the steering arms behind the front axle and the BD264 diesel engine.
