Farmall H head

Hello!

I'm doing an overhaul on a 1940 H. Serial indicates it should be a distillate model but it does not have the distillate manifold.

Engine serial matches tractor serial – FBH-106xx.

However, the valves measure only 4 15/16”. The head number is 6186 DD.

One clue: no numbers on the intake vales but the exhaust valves are 43913 DA which IH says are kerosene valves.

Anyone know if this is indeed a kerosene head?

Yes its a kerosene number on head. Common for original type manifold to be replaced by gasoline type when original went bad.

OK, thanks! Having trouble figuring out which valves will work with this head. Guys selling the valve kits don't seem to know.

Just rebuilt one of those heads. I got my valves from Napa, they were half the price of anyone else. Took one of the older guys to find them in the book but they can get them.
