Super M water pump driver yoke

Any suggestions for removing a "frozen" driver on the front of the impeller shaft (without removing the pump assembly)? I got the taperpin out with a drift punch, but can't get the driver off the shaft. Also, the packing nut has a notched head - is there a special tool for turning that?

Hi I cant really answer your question but personally but I would not hesitate to remove it. MTF

The shaft should slide right out. It is either mushroomed or just rusty. Try to heat it with a torch. The packing nut can be removed with a pipe wrench. Just be careful not to break off the tabs.

To remove the driver, you may have to use a hammer and a long punch. I have had to do that before to remove a stubborn driver.
